Where are you living?
I live in Madrid, Spain, but I was born in Argentina and have spent some in Copenhagen, Denmark. I enjoy Madrid’s proximity to mountains and natural parks, which makes it easy to escape the city and reconnect with nature.
What is your academic background?
I hold a Master’s in Nature Management (Biodiversity, Landscape, and Planning) from the University of Copenhagen and a Bachelor’s in Environmental Science from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
Where were you working before you came here?
Before joining the Foundation, I was a Senior Program Officer for Events at Verra. In that role, I oversaw event logistics, stakeholder coordination, and content delivery for international forums focused on carbon markets, biodiversity, and plastic credits. Before that, I managed the World Biodiversity Summit and the World Biodiversity Network at the World Climate Foundation, which aimed to bring together global leaders, policymakers, businesses, scientists, and civil society to address biodiversity challenges. I organized events alongside the UNFCCC COP, NY Climate Week, and UNCBD COP, facilitating discussions that supported biodiversity policies and promoted a nature-positive transition. This experience deepened my understanding of biodiversity issues from policy, business, and scientific perspectives and equipped me with the skills to align diverse viewpoints in collaborative settings.
What excites you about working at the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation?
I am excited to join the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation because it addresses one of the most urgent challenges of our time: mobilizing the finance community to support biodiversity and foster a nature-positive future. The finance sector plays a crucial role in this transition, and this position allows me to contribute directly to these efforts.
Since first learning about the Foundation, I have been inspired by its collaborative and impactful approach. I am proud to be part of this organization and look forward to learning and making meaningful contributions.
Where does your interest in biodiversity come from?
My interest in biodiversity stems from my upbringing in Buenos Aires, a large city with limited opportunities to connect with nature. However, I spent much of my childhood at my grandparents’ countryside home, where I developed a deep love for the natural world. Later, living in the mountains near Madrid—a surprising biodiversity hotspot—broadened my appreciation for ecosystems and their importance. My passion for biodiversity intensified during my time at Europe’s largest primate rescue centre, where I witnessed the real-world impacts of conservation efforts. These experiences, from personal encounters with nature to professional work with endangered species, have shaped my commitment to protecting biodiversity and ensuring its integration into global sustainability initiatives.
