Summary
This event will build on the work of the FfB Foundation’s Positive Impact working group in identifying how financial institutions can generate and support a positive impact on nature. It will focus on innovations and new models that contribute to nature positive outcomes. It will serve to identify solutions able to mobilise and scale public and private funding for nature, as per target 19 of the Global Biodiversity Framework.
Description
This event will build on the work of the FfB Foundation’s Positive Impact working group in identifying how financial institutions can generate and support a positive impact on nature. It will showcase concrete strategies developed by financial institutions to support the conservation, restoration, and sustainable use of biodiversity.
The event will serve to identify solutions able to mobilise and scale public and private funding for nature, as per target 19 of the Global Biodiversity Framework. It will focus on innovations and new models that contribute to nature positive outcomes. It will provide examples and inspiration for actors aiming to pro-actively develop transformative actions and drive behavioral change. It will also discuss barriers and lessons learned, to support the mobilisation of other financial institutions.
Finally, the event will highlight the importance of stronger cooperation between the public and private finance sectors, which needs to be considered as a key element for the mobilisation of additional resources for the recovery of nature and realising the vision of living in harmony with nature by 2050.
