Join our webinar ‘Unlocking the biodiversity-climate nexus’ on 13 December
Finance for Biodiversity Foundation, UNEP FI, the PRI, the Finance@Biodiversity Community are organising a webinar on the biodiversity-climate nexus.
13 December 2023 – 14:00-15:00 CET
Webinar: “Unlocking the biodiversity-climate nexus: integrating nature in climate finance.”
Addressing nature and climate solutions in an integrated way can be seen as a fundamental risk management approach. By integrating biodiversity into climate change activities, financial institutions aim to address both themes efficiently, helping them to minimise resources while increasing positive impacts. But the integration of biodiversity into climate change requires an in-depth understanding of how the two topics are linked and interplay with each other in regard to synergies and trade-offs, the so-called nexus.
This webinar is aimed at banks, institutional investors and insurers at the beginning of their journey in addressing reversing and halting biodiversty loss and how it is connected to climate change, as well as key concepts and initiatives. It will give recommendations to include biodiversity in existing climate change frameworks and approaches and will discuss how financial institutions can start implementing the TNFD framework.
On this occasion, Finance for Biodiversity Foundation and UNEP FI will present their publications on the matter, respectively Deepshikha Singh (Group La Française) and David Carlin (UNEP FI).
This will be followed by a panel discussion on how financial institutions are implementing nature action into their climate strategies with:
- Hirotaka Hideshima, Counsellor on Global Strategy, Norinchukin bank
- Jean-Francois Coppenolle, Investment Director Climate and ESG at Abeille Assurances –Aéma Groupe
- Shipra Gupta, Investment Stewardship Lead, Responsible Investment Strategy and Execution at Scottish Widows
