Corporate Engagement Manager

About the role 

We seek to hire a Corporate Engagement Manager responsible for the overall coordination of the engagement with companies’ activities of the Finance for Biodiversity (FfB) Foundation. 

In this role, you will be part of the FfB Foundation Team and its mission to support a call to action and foster collaboration among financial institutions to help reverse nature loss this decade. 

You will coordinate the activities of the Engagement with Companies Working Group, its subgroups, and the collaborative textile sector investor engagement initiative FABRIC on a daily basis. 

Overall, you will monitor the rapid developments in collaborative engagement initiatives on biodiversity in the financial sector, engage with key stakeholders and partners, and represent the FfB Foundation in internal and external webinars, as well as at in-person events and summits. 

You will collaborate with the co-chairs of the Engagement with Companies Working Group,  work closely with the Associate Technical and Data lead, who will support you in organising meetings and technical analyses and you will report to the new Director of Corporate Engagement and Research, who will start soon.  

 

Key Responsibilities 

Coordinate working group activities: 

  • Overall coordination of the Engagement with Companies Working Group and any subgroup(s), ensuring the timely production of deliverables and actions in collaboration with FfB members; 
  • Initiate, develop, and support subgroup activities aligned with FfB members’ needs for sharing knowledge on stewardship activities relating to nature and biodiversity; 
  • Identify and act upon practical and strategic collaborative opportunities for engaging companies on biodiversity topics; 
  • Develop annual work plans to deliver the Working Group’s activities, in collaboration with the co-chairs; 
  • Update the Guide on Engagement with Companies and supplement the Collaborative Engagements Overview on an annual basis. 

 

Lead FABRIC and other engagement activities: 

  • Lead FABRIC, the investor engagement initiative supporting FfB members’ collaborative engagement with selected companies in the textile sector; 
  • Monitor and report on the progress of corporate engagement initiatives, providing regular updates to stakeholders; 
  • Support FfB participation in the Technical Advisory Group and Science Council of Nature Action 100; 
  • Initiate and coordinate collaborative engagement programs with companies, supporting FfB members in enhancing their biodiversity stewardship. 

 

Represent the FfB Foundation: 

  • Represent the FfB Foundation during online and in-person events, webinars, summits, and seminars. 

 

Skills and experience 

We are looking for candidates with demonstrable knowledge, experience, and leadership skills to interact with financial institutions and guide their engagement with companies on biodiversity and nature. Candidates should have the following qualifications: 

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in corporate engagement with companies within a financial institution, particularly on sustainability, nature, or climate-related topics; 
  • Strong understanding of nature-related risks and opportunities for businesses and investors; 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with investors, partner organisations, and independently in a high-performing team; 
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to present clearly and facilitate engagement discussions; 
  • Results-oriented, self-starter capable of managing multiple work streams and working at a fast pace; 
  • Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field; 
  • Knowledge of sustainable finance, biodiversity, and related initiatives (a plus); 
  • Passion for contributing to sustainability and nature recovery. 

 

Contract 

  • Initial 1-year fixed-term contract, with the aim of an ongoing role 
  • 4 or 5 days per week 
  • This role is compensated with a gross annual salary of €50,000–€75,000 in the Netherlands, with equivalent remuneration aligned to local cost of living in the applicant’s country of residence.
