COP15 among highlights of 2022 FfB Foundation annual report
The Finance for Biodiversity (FfB) Foundation has published its annual report for the year 2022, covering a flurry of activities by its members including as part of COP15.
In 2022, the Foundation’s Public Policy Advocacy working group was an official observer member of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) COP15 and provided input from members on the Global Biodiversity Framework’s text, using three position papers (titled Aligning Financial Flows with Biodiversity Goals and Targets).
Altogether, 42 new signatories and 18 new members joined the Foundation in 2022 and a new working group on target setting was launched.
Anita de Horde and Anne-Marie Bor, Co-Founders of the FfB Foundation, comment: “One single financial institution may not be able to change the current course of nature destruction. However, we believe that, when joining forces in our foundation, financial institutions can redirect financial flows to companies that do not harm the environment or that even support its recovery.”
