About the Foundation
The Finance for Biodiversity Foundation was set up in March 2021.
The aim of the Foundation is to support a call to action and collaboration between financial institutions via working groups, as a connecting body for contributing signatories and partner organisations.

Our members
Financial institutions that have signed the Finance for Biodiversity Pledge can become a member of the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation if they want to be active in the working groups. The number of members is growing and currently stands at 82 financial institutions.

Working groups
Foundation members can join the five working groups that are currently active:
- Engagement with companies
- Impact assessment (incl. biodiversity measurement and data)
- Public policy advocacy
- Target Setting
- Positive Impact
Each working group is connected to one of the five commitments of the Finance for Biodiversity Pledge.

Become a member
Financial institutions that have signed the Finance for Biodiversity Pledge can become a member of the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation by completing the registration form.
You can choose between three types of membership:
1. Supporting member
Least active – your organisation will receive updates on the working group results and newsletters with information on biodiversity. It will be mentioned in of our communications and on our website and can participate in our two update meetings per year.
2. Collaborative member
Moderately active – your organisation will participate in the working groups, gain knowledge in the workshops, co-develop publications, support public events and engage with other financial institutions to sign the Pledge. Besides this, you can also participate in all the activities and opportunities mentioned above for supporting members.
3. Impact member
Very active – your organisation will participate as a (co-)chair of a working group, lead collective actions and/or have an active role in communications, publicity and/or public events. Besides this, you can also engage in all the activities and opportunities mentioned above for collaborative members.
